What is a trucker jacket?
A trucker jacket is a short, boxy, waist-length jacket that began as American workwear in the early 20th century — built for railroad workers and cowboys who needed a tough layer that would not catch on machinery. Those origins still define the silhouette buyers recognise today:
- Button front rather than a zip, with a neat point or stand collar.
- Two chest pockets, traditionally flap pockets, usually with a slim vertical welt or patch pocket beside them.
- Waist adjuster tabs at the hem so the fit can be cinched.
