The diamond pattern is the quilting we use where the padding is heaviest, because the cross-hatch grid holds dense cotton in place across a large panel. Why diamond quilting is used on padded styles
Quilting exists to stop filling from sliding inside a garment. On a light jacket a wave or straight stitch line is enough, but on a long padded parka the panels are large and the filling is dense, so it needs a pattern that pins the padding down in two directions at once. A diamond grid does exactly that: every stitch intersection locks a small pocket of cotton in place, which is why the diamond pattern is the standard for padded parkas, long coats and heavily insulated bodies.

What is diamond quilting?

Are the fur hoods real fur?
Our fur trims are faux fur and are detachable. This keeps the styles shippable into markets that restrict real fur.

Why do the parkas use both a zip and buttons?
The button-and-zip double closure puts a placket over the zip, which keeps wind and rain out of the zip line and gives the front its clean, structured look.
